My gaze slowly roamed the intricate planes of Amorah’s face, admiring its every curve, appreciating its every detail, and loving the way her nose twitched every so often as she slept… in my arms.

Waking up with Amorah next to me was surprisingly surreal, especially after I had begun to prepare myself for the possibility of having to let go. Of this. Of us. Of the woman I had loved my entire existence. Before we knew what love meant. The truth was, a part of me had begun to dim. To die with the mere thought of not being with her again… but the moment I saw her wander into my room, life returned to me.

My soul filled with fierce relief and vigor.

There were so many things I wanted her to know. So many things I wished she would remember, and yet, the past was irrelevant now that she had fully given in to me. Accepted who we were to each other.

Today, right now, was all that mattered.

A small humming sound left her lips when I placed a feathery kiss on her neck, and my mouth tilted into a wicked smile—leaving a trail of kisses along the soft curve that led to her shoulder. Gently laying her on her back, I took my rightful place between her legs, feeling them wrap around my hips slowly. Her body responded to me, even though she wasn’t fully conscious.

“Astralis…” I whispered, brushing my mouth against hers, and noticed Amorah’s eyes flutter open. Dazed with desire at the feel of my body against hers, she glanced at me from under hooded eyes.

“Yes…” she whispered, asserting our vow, and her hips lifted to meet mine.

“Mmm, you enjoy that?” I asked, kissing my way to her chest as my form arched over hers.

“Yes, Connhor…”

“You want more of this?” I whispered, my breath fanning the groove between her luscious breasts while I nuzzled them. I lightly sucked on her tight nipple, and she pressed impossibly closer to me.

“Please…” Her plea caused every inch of me to respond to her, and I brought myself up again, looking into her gorgeous amethyst eyes.

A crooked smirk tilted my lips. “Too bad, because we have to go to class.” Placing a fleeting kiss on her lips, I stood, leaving her half melted on the bed. Oh, I had no doubt she was going to kill me, yet I couldn’t help but chuckle.

Amorah blinked in shock at my departure, eyes slowly widening in recognition of my evil teasing, until they narrowed so fiercely that they promised painful retribution.

“Connhor! I’m going to zap you so hard!” she raged, waving a finger at me. Lightning erupted from her hand, hitting me square in the chest and sending me back against the wall. Laughter burst out of me.

“Oh, dear Goddess!” she gasped, running towards me.

Still laughing, I straightened while Amorah fussed over me, trying to make sure I was okay. “I’m fine,” I reassured, cradling her cheeks and stealing a kiss from her.

“How could you be? I just electrocuted you.
